BIMAR – AR-Powered App for Real-time Construction Validation & Inspection

  • First successful adoption of Augmented Reality (AR) technology for real world construction checking in a megaproject 
  • Piloted on the KVMRT SSP Line 2, the application allows users to overlay BIM design models on corresponding built elements on site, thus identifying discrepancies in real time
  • A radical shift from conventional manual checking, the solution offers visualisation and precise checking like no other
  • With further upgrades, BIMAR has been adopted for other types of projects such as buildings and reclamation works
  • Winner of the Augmented & Virtual Reality in Engineering Category at the Malaysia Technology Excellence Awards 2020 hosted by Singapore Business Review
