Gamuda Excellence Transformation (GET) welcomed a delegation led by the Building Technology Research Institute (BTRi) from Hong Kong to the Gamuda Innovation Hub (GAIN) on 13 May 2026, as part of a broader knowledge exchange visit to Malaysia.
At GAIN, the delegation was introduced to the digital and AI-driven solutions that support Gamuda’s delivery of major infrastructure projects. Key highlights included Building Information Modelling Augmented Reality (BIMAR) and the Autonomous Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), both of which demonstrate Gamuda’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology in project execution.
The day’s programme also included visits to the Gamuda IBS factory, where the delegation gained first-hand exposure to an end-to-end Industrialised Building System integrating automation and robotic prefabrication, as well as a technical exchange session with Asia Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) on Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) and AI-driven applications in safety and infrastructure inspection.
The visiting group comprised approximately 20 senior representatives from 13 organisations across Hong Kong’s government, academic, and industry sectors, including the Development Bureau, Highways Department, and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, among others.
The visit reflects Gamuda’s ongoing dedication to sharing its digital construction expertise on an international platform, fostering cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange within the built environment industry.
