From AI to Site: Gamuda’s Digital Approach Spotlighted at FCON 2025

Gamuda participated in the Future of Construction (FCON) 2025 Summit, held on 20–21 May at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane, Australia. As one of the most important annual gatherings for construction industry leaders and changemakers, FCON brought together professionals from across the public and private sectors to share strategies, spark ideas, and shape the future of the built environment.

Representing Gamuda, Group Chief Digital Officer Ts. John Lim Ji Xiong delivered the International Keynote Address, sharing how AI, data and user-first thinking are being applied across our projects. From predictive analytics and automation to robotics, 3D printing, BIM and IoT, John outlined how digital tools are making a tangible difference—enhancing safety, improving speed, and supporting more sustainable outcomes.

He also took part in panel and roundtable discussions under the Technology, Innovation and People track, where he reflected on how innovation can be scaled responsibly and effectively through strong partnerships and practical implementation.

Also contributing to the conversations were our colleagues from DT Infrastructure. CEO John Anderson spoke on the Construction Leaders Panel, highlighting opportunities in the renewables sector and how teams are managing remote delivery in Australia’s Pilbara region by drawing on shared knowledge and digital support from across the group.

To close out the summit, Errol Bellchambers, DT Infrastructure’s National Head of Procurement, joined a discussion focused on improving collaboration with teams, subcontractors, and clients—emphasising the human aspect of successful project delivery.

FCON 2025 was a valuable opportunity to learn from peers, share ideas, and contribute to the shared goal of improving the construction industry through innovation and collaboration.
